Renaissance
Renaissance is a service that seeks to support the rehabilitation of adults aged 18 to 65 whose lives have been affected by mental health problems.
Renaissance, formerly known as Aylesbury Clubhouse, is a newly developed Mental Health day service funded by Social Services. We aim to provide opportunities for members to develop their knowledge and skills, in addition to meeting new people and encountering new experiences. Members attending the sessions will be supported within a non-judgemental, friendly and safe environment
An important ethos of Renaissance is the sharing of skills and experience so that both members and staff make an important contribution to the project. In addition to attending structured sessions, members will have the opportunity to be part of a team in developing and running the service where all input and contributions will be heard and valued.
Members will be allocated a link worker who will support them in achieving their aims and goals through regular reviews to ensure their needs continue to be met.
We have a varied programme of sessions providing educational, social, creative and practical opportunities for members of all abilities.
Sessions take place at Ardenham House and make use of local facilities.
Renaissance relies on donations and organises regular fundraising events to generate additional money for materials and equipment for the sessions and the future development of the service.
The programmed sessions were developed with member input and are aimed to increase confidence, self-esteem, and sense of achievement in addition to promoting independence, involvement and activity in the local community.
Renaissance has two social events each week, Thursday evenings and Sundays. These provide valuable opportunities for members to meet new people, reducing social isolation.
All referrals are accepted through the Community Mental Health Teams.
