If for any reason you are behind with your payments it is vital that you contact your Home Ownership Officer straight away – we can help you. We can check that you are getting the benefits you are entitled to, and can work out a repayment agreement with you. This would normally be your current weekly/monthly charges plus an affordable amount to be paid towards the amount owing on your account.
If you enter into an agreement and keep to it there would usually be no other action taken. However, if you don’t make an agreement, or don’t stick to it and don’t tell us what has gone wrong we sometimes have to take legal proceedings to recover what is owed. In very serious cases your home could be at risk. So please talk to us! We may be able to arrange for someone to visit you if you can’t get out.
